Incredibly low infield defense ratings?

I simmed 40 years for a dynasty report I'm doing. And had been going through my team and noticing all the players I inherited were below average on defense in the infield (all 4-7). I didn't take much notice of it, just thinking I had a bad defensive team. Since my outfielders all looked normal.

Then, I went to the list of all players and the highest rated infielder at 2nd, SS, and 3rd base are either 8's or 9's.

What's up?

Ive noticed catchers ability is also too low as well.

From the default setting of 1.000?

I have the normal distribution in the outfield, if I did that would I not have a bunch of super efficient outfielders since I'd be compensating for the poor infielders?

I created the league as it was in 1970, and then deleted the players and made them all fictional. Is it possible that this had something to do with it?

I assume you play with a 1-20 rating scale, I guess that seems problematic. On a 1-10 scale, I don't really see what the problem is.

You should check that your "other player rating scale" is 1-10, just in case. Are the 8's and 9's blue/green or orange/yellow? If it's the former, you don't have a problem.

They are orange and yellow. The outfielders look pretty good, there's a big group of 17-20's, it's all in the infield.

I think we've detected problems in some ratings scales. At 1-100, this isn't a problem at all, either.

I have a 50-year sim using the 1-20 scale that doesn't have this problem at all. All settings were left at default. So it can't be the rating scale alone.

Can you look at the actual 1-250 ratings in the editor? That would be a way to see if it's at least partially a rating scale problem.

Yeah, I went into editor, just to see if it was a 'scouting error' and all the infield range, error, arm and turn DP are all in the 60-90 range.
