A bug (?) and and annoyance....
Within one single playing session at the end of the 1922 season I ran into two oddities:
Annoyance - I am playing the New York Yankees from 1921 (the year Ruth had his monster season) and I won the 1922 World Series - but without Bob Meusel because he suffered a career-ending injury duringthe World Series! This now gigantic hole in me outfield led me to the free agent market to rustle up a new right fielder. This led to the bug! Bug (?) - Ross Youngs was in the free agent pool after the 1922 season after finishing his contract with the New York Giants. Since I needed to fill the need for a productive right fielder, I bid for his services and he signed a 3 year contract for $82,090 per year. The bug is that Ross Youngs is now on the Boston Red Sox rather than on the New York Yankees because he was drafted during the Rule 5 draft. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN and HOW DID I NOT GET WARNED BEFORE IT DID !!!!! If this is not a bug, it is a HUGE annoyance and really needs a warning message so that it doesn't happen again! |

Part of being a GM/Manager is checking your roster before the rule 5 draft and knowing who you need to protect. It is not a bug or annoyance of the game.
