No one at home in technical support....
It must be all volunteers as no one seems to be in charge over there. I have to take my question here.
I get corrupted data files and have yet to be able to finish one season. When restarting a saved game I get a message that says a data file failed to load and that a file is corrupted. Once this happens the league is shot and I have to start over. Any ideas on what could be corrupting files when the league is saved? It doesn't happen at any particular point in a season when it happens. It has happened with fictional and historical leagues. It always seems to be data files or player files that this happens to. Could Norton running in the background be causing this? It's not game files but data files. It happen also with 2007 and 2008 so it must be something with my machine. I'm not that savy with computers so any advice is much appreciated. |

Yes there are only Volunteers over in the tech area, Nutlaw is pretty much in charge, but still only a Volunteer but still does a great job over there.
There are loads of things that could be corrupting the files, you could try it without Norton and see if it does it, but it's not a good idea to be without a virus protection for long....

You have only to look at the 162 "Logged Issues" in Technical Support (4 pages worth in about 2 weeks) or the 189 "Claim Fixed" threads to see that this just isn't true. Every item in logged Issues or Claim Fixed has been investigated by them (sometimes multiple times) to some extent. In these two sub-forums they have fielded over 2,000 posts. I have a lot of admiration for them.
On the other hand, it's easy to understand your frustration. I have been frustrated many times and have started numerous threads, but I have never gotten the feeling that I was being ignored. Sometimes they can't resolve a thread immediately because they are: 1- Still researching it to duplicate an issue or identify a solution, or 2- They're so busy helping so many people all at the same time. With many posted threads over there, I haven't really needed to, but if it were necessary, I'd be willing to cut them a little slack.

So do I! Nutlaw & friends do a great job IMO, considering they are doing it for the love for the game. If we'd sell more copies, we would be able to hire a tech support guy... but right now (with the poor $ exchange rate) the profit is just enough to feed 2 1/2 families. So, tell all your friends about the game!!
