Recalculation - on what calendar date?

Is there a set date for recalculation to occur for a player's next season?

Is it something like November 1st, or is it linked to an event-date such as the start of the offseason?

hola,

After looking at some different reference points with a young, decent player (McNally at 21 years of age), it looks to me that the big recalc is done right after the end of the playoffs.

THIS must be an error.
All new players in any historical dynasty are imported (if not in an open draft) in February the year they first played in the majors.

All new reclac should be based on the season coming up, so how can recalc happen before the import of new rating base stuff are imported.

Have a look at this.
Something doesn´t feel right IMHO

Re-Calc occurs immediately after the playoffs for all current/existing players. Rookies then come in on draft day if using a draft or in February if assigning them to their existing teams,

With the re-calc being done immediately after the playoffs this means that the new stats are available for free agents and trades occuring before the rookies come in.

For the longest time I couldn't figure out why even with recalc on rookies would have great import seasons and then decline before developing properly, then I'd see the ratings and guys would be a 55 average upon import then drop to like 42 and then slowly build back up.

Finally I realized that the main problem (and also the reason pitcher endurance would be weird too upon import) was that the stats were never recalculated for these guys until after their 1st season.

It has been logged as an issue on the technical support page so hopefully it will be fixed. Until then I really cant find any purpose in using my own database unless I set the draft for during the season therefore making the rookies import a full year early.

I still can't figure out the reasoning for this. It's like giving the AI and the user the ability to make decisions based on knowing what the future will be (which we already have enough of an advantage without having the actual ratings in front of us). I think it should be done before the season, this way the un-educated can build their team around Joe Charbonneau and then not realize that well...he's Joe Chabonneau. Or as senility sets in, misjudging just how long Bo Jackson lasts and ending up stuck with him in the OF when he goes bust.
