Well I wasn't going to DL the new patch because I wasn't having any problems, but you threw a ringer in there, something I was hoping would come along sometime in the future....field ratings import options. Nice surprise!

I think it was battists that said in some other thread that if you're not having any problems and none of the stuff on the list is really something you want then you don't need to dl it.l

That was for the beta patch only, I believe.

I don't recall exactly the file size, but it seems like this is quite a bit larger.

Whatever, thanks very much.

If you're in online leagues, however, you should probably patch up to the latest non-beta patch (e.g. this patch) as that is what most people including commissioners will probably be using.

Thanks guys! That is so much better for testing than a half season demo.

Yes, he was responding to my question. I fully intended to follow the advice, got curious, patched, and have already paid the price with my very first crash of OOTP 9. Back to 9.1.2 for me.

Since I have never had a crash, now I'm a little concerned with upgrading, although I do want to patch to get the fixes. Just curious, where at did you crash and were you using a previous league file or something new?

I am glad to see this, yet is this something that I need to check/click/etc to make it work? If so, where would that be?

Thanks,

Same game (backed it up before patching, of course) - six games after patch with no problem, then a crash while substituting a pitcher. Never had that before in 62 games played out previously in this league.

Now it could be coincidence, of course, but if you look at what I said in that other thread (9.15 Beta!), I had a foreboding that this would happen and surer than stuff, it did.

Thank God I backed up the league because when I reinstalled 9.1.2 (after snitching the new english.xml and help files from 9.1.6) and tried to start my league again, it was corrupted. I restored from backup and all is back to normal, albeit six games ago (and I had a 4-2 record in those games, dammit ).

Thanks for providing the details. Hopefully it was just a coincidence, but who knows. I personally only sim games (don't play them out) so maybe that will make it less of a possibility for me. Thanks again.
