Alberto Flores makes history

In my years of playing OOTP (going back to the original), I have played out every game but have _never_ had one of my guys throw a no-hitter. The closest was Tex Hughson finally giving up a hit with one out in the 9th in a 40s replay I was doing. I was still at my old job then, so this was pre-2002. OOTP 3 maybe.

Now I have this

Congrats Alberto Flores of the 1989 Baltimore Demons. Note he threw a 2-hitter in there as well.

However, what does this kid have to do to get some respect?

I think that if a guy throws a no hitter his popularity should skyrocket instantly. That's what happens in real life.

This guy only wins when he pitches a 2-hitter or less. With a 3-4 record he isn't going to get much respect...lol

It is amazing - only 3 wins and they were all shutouts, with two being no-hitters....

I wonder if popularity is adjusted in the offseason? Might really slow down sims if it was adjusted after every game.

I remember playing as the Blue Jays. Pedro Martinez with the Sox, several OOTPs ago. Started out the season pitching a 1-hitter on me opening day. Then the next Monday pitching a no-hitter. I was so happy I didnt have to face him the rest of the year.

I've never seen a no-hitter in real life actually. Only 2 I've even seen part of was Wilson Alvarez's last 3 innings (damn the CF made a couple great plays) back circa 1990. And the first 4 innings of David Wells perfect game. i was at my dad's house, and Suzyn Waldmann got on the air, and I find her very annoying, so I lit out early. My dad had to call to rub it in that I missed it.
