Problem with Retired Player Returning
We are a 6.51/6.12 league and we recently completed a season and proceeded to the off-season. After everything was done, the league news report said that a certain player had retired and then at the bottom of the report, the same player changed his mind and returned to the league as a free agent.
Problem is this player does not show up at all in the free agent pool in the webpages, reports or the in-game pool. I can find the player on the website and in the game using the Active Player List (website) or the various find player functions in the game (I am the commissioner of the league). The player is not affiliated with any team, just kind of out there in limbo. I set up the league files in a dummy directory and advanced free agency a day and then a few days, doesn't show up. I even finished all the days and the player never showed and did not show up in the free agent pool after free agency was done. So, I reloaded the league files and set a couple of teams on CPU that had a "need" at the player's position. The CPU was able to make the player offers, but the human teams still cannot see the player. I would think that this problem has come up somewhere before and has been addressed at some time on this board, but I cannot seem to find anything. So, either I'm using the wrong search words or maybe it hasn't been addresssed before. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? |

I am the commish of the league and I run 6.51. On a whim, I loaded the league files into my 6.12 game. The retired player shows up in 6.12, but not 6.51. I advised my owners that those wishing to make free agent offers to the player in question will have to use their 6.12 game to do so. A tad inconvenient for those who had made the switch to 6.51.
In case anyone reads this, is there a reason why all this is occurring and is there a way to fix it? |
