Rain delays
I didn't want to take the Doubleheaders thread off on a tangent, so I'm making another thread.
Which is what I thought. But I'm curious - are rain delays random just like injuries? I know the weather is determined during the game, but I've had games where it says "there's bad weather - we have rain in the forecast", but no delays.A boolean for a rain delay or not, and then a random number in between something like 20 and 90 minutes? I ask because I just had a 87 minute and 52 minute rain delay in the same game. I realize MLB has much longer rain delays at times. Is there any sort of maximums since there's no rainouts/suspended games? Last edited by Afino; 10-11-2008 at 06:08 PM. |

One other thing while I've created a thread on this.....
Sometimes when there's a rain delay, it won't show in the PBP. All I will see is "Rain is beginning to fall" and then "The rain has stopped....", but if I go to the box score, it will sometimes say there was a usually significant rain delay. This probably happens 50% of the time there is a delay. I only figured this out because suddenly my pitcher was exhausted in the 3rd inning. |

What effect does rain have on the game,is it just the obvious like a possibility of more errors and injuries? Also I think it would be kinda cool if there was a possibility of rain outs.Just think, its the bottom of the 4th and you're down like 6-1 and suddenly there's a rain delay, that can possibly save you.....I think it would be fun

Although that's very much like real life, so I don't complain about it. And yeah - I've gotten PBP lines where errors are committed - "the wet grass may have played a part in that miscue!", but not any injuries. |

I agree that postponements and suspensions would be great. Especially in those tight pennant races where you would have to play games at the end of the season a la this year in the NL.

Just happened AGAIN. ![]() This time there wasn't even a warning that rain was falling with the exception of the opening sequence where they said there was rain in the forecast. |

Happened again.
This time without a mention that it was even raining. All of a sudden, my pitcher was exhausted, apparently there was a 66 minute rain delay. ![]() PLEASE FIX THIS FOR OOTP 10!!! (I'm adding to suggestion forum too) |
