Champion's League...
...you know, allowing teams from different leagues to play each other in final playoff.
It's pretty much the only thing I want from OOTPX...

I've managed to sort of do this in OOTP9 by creating a separate champions league and moving the teams there after their respective years have ended. There are some real issues that make it hard to maintain. Really would be nice if OOTP had explicit support for this.

The league association concept would cover this. Any leagues designated as members of a particular association would be able to hold post-season games against each other in a user-defined way. So join the campaign for league associations!

This and/or a World Cup/WBC is what I was referring to awhile ago. I still have to get around to coding my schedules to allow for a manual exhibition-run champions league using 18 countries that I set up a year or two ago.

Originally, I envisioned essentially a copy of league playoff customization at the association level. But that wouldn't allow for individual playoff branches which don't culminate in a genuine association championship. For example, the Junior World Series and Dixie Series champions of years past did not play each other. So there would need to be a way of setting up limited playoff branches as well as ones which climax in a league championship. Associations, as I see them, would contain a minimum of two leagues and a maximum of sixty (the National Association at its peak contained fifty-nine leagues, so I took that real-world number and added one to bring it to a round number). |

Darn! Being able to create a true World Series (including the league champions of the MLB, Japanese, Korean, and other professional leagues) is the only thing I was looking for in a new version of the game. Any chance of this feature being added next year?
