HELP!!! Cant Bid on FA

I am a Commisioner simming Free Agency and the players are saying that they can not place bids on their players. How do I fix this so they can place bids on their players via the file? Anyone who can help me can answer this. Please leave detailed instructions.

How are they unable to place bids? Is the "Offer Contract" option not appearing on the "Action" pull-up menu on the Player Profile page?

The simplest way is to right click on any player in the FA screen and choose "offer contract".

Ok...I was not clear enough. They are saying that there is no money in the Free Agent account ($ for Free Agency) to sign anyone with. I need to add money to this account. Can this be done without having cash? let me know.

From a quick look at league finances, I can't see a problem. But I'm inexperienced with these matters. Someone with more expertise needs to check it out.

Yeah, my reading is that projected balance (budget room) plus cash is your FA amount. So Arizona in this league has a bit more than $16.5M available for FA.

Questions

Is there a salary cap? If so the calculation above is superseded by the cap, ie if you are $5M under the cap your max FA cash is $5M.

Do you have owner controlling budget vs all revenue available? I think (don't know) that owner controlling can tighten up $ availability.

Show a screen shot of a FA offer and the team finances (two shots). We need to know what message the AI is giving. Use Arizona for example.

If you are commish go to Arizona and click "Front office" "finances" and make sure that the numbers there match the league reports on the web. Post a screen shot if you can.

Fixed it...thanks for your help. New problem...I need to shorten the file that the GM's upload with the minimum amount of files needed to do line ups and transactions. Which files should I check and which ones should I leave blank?

(You mean the file that the owners "download.") If you want to give them the bare minimum, all they need are the .dat files. You can uncheck all box scores, reports, game logs, replays, images, etc.

OK...that is what I am not understanding...what are the .DAT files? Can you be a tad more specific?

I don't have access to my game right now, and I can't recall what the "Create league file" submenu looks like.

I don't think that the game will create an unusable League file, so I'd just uncheck all the options, and then create and archive the file.

In the Commissioner Home screen, when you click on "League file center" set all the "Include" blanks to "1" and do check the "names.dat" and "retired.dat" boxes. Uncheck "include images" and uncheck all the boxes under "Team News," "League News," and "Player History."

That's as trim as you can get.
