Dear OOTP: Safeco Field has a ROOF!

I just got through a 33 minute rain-delay in an exhibition between the Mets and Mariners...maybe Safeco's retractable roof mechanism was broken?

(And we just had an error which the announcer speculated was "due to the wet grass...")

I think Raidergoo might have been kidding.
I have one thought that I'm not sure if it is the answer or not but worth a look. On the Seattle homepage go to the edit stadium page and make sure that the drop down which says "domed stadium" is in place. I don't know if this will fix the problem but it might if it currently says "open stadium" by mistake.

This has been logged as a bug several times, to no avail. It is a deliberate design decision.

If this is a design choice it does make one wonder about the credibility of the game designer and other choices he has made.

Yep, the default game has Safeco as "open ballpark" -- not as "retractable roof," which it should be.
