I believe you CAN remove current ratings... (edit: I have never tried it but below it states it can be done, so I am running with it) from the online manual OOTP Baseball Manual - Game Options Page "OOTP supports any of the ratings scales listed below. In each numeric scale, the higher a player's rating, the better he is at that particular skill. NONE displayed 1 to 5 2 to 8 1 to 10 1 to 20 20 to 80 (in increments of 5) 1 to 100 'NONE displayed' will prevent ratings from displaying. Even if ratings are not displayed, they still exist and are used by the computer in decision-making. They are simply not visible to the human player." Turn player ratings off and turn player potentials on since you are wanting one and not the other and you have your game as you want it. Last edited by CecilCooper; 05-05-2009 at 12:40 PM. |

*sigh* everywhere you turn in this game all you get are ratings, no stats. try looking at your prospects page - all ratings, no stats. you really have to engage in workarounds to make this more of a realistic sim as it definitetly is not set up for it.

if we had the ability to physically watch the player perform day in and day out, hit in the cage, take infield etc..a manager can talk to scouts and get a real scouting report answering the questions they want answered. We wouldn't need current ratings, but without those factors, we need something to count on. The leagues I've been a part of always use a 1-10 scale for ratings, which just as in real life gives you a 10 point cushion 1 way or the other. If a player is a 7 contact, he could be anywhere from 65-74 on a 100 point scale. And you then have to use stats to determine if he's closer to 74 or 65, which makes a huge difference over the course of a season
