Please help
Hi,
I just downloaded the newest available version: 9.2.13 and I started a fictional league mirroring the majors except a DH in both leagues. I am in the middle of the inaugural draft. I am in the 4th round, and there are only 2 players left available with Eye ratings over 70 (I use a 1-100 rating scale). This seems odd. Is this normal? Will this lead to unrealistic simulation results? Thank you! simcrazy Last edited by simcrazy; 05-16-2009 at 01:29 AM. |

also..
also, now I'm in the 5th round and there are only 3 starting pitchers with overall ratings over 70. I am wondering if this is normal and will this lead to unrealistic statistics for my league?
Thank you! |

Yeah OOTP doesn't work like other games where everyone has an overall of 70 or better, the overall rating is completely relative to other players in that position in that league. So After five rounds I wouldn't expect to see any elite starting pitchers. As for the lack of decent eye ratings, don't know what to say there, but your simulation results will work out in the end. Also note that if you have scouts on, the ratings you are looking at are through the eyes of the scout, who could suck and determining wether or not guys are patient at the plate.

Thank you, sir! Well, I was surprised, especially because I love patient hitters. I hope the simulations has guys with realistic OBPs (started in 2008). I appreciate your help. My fantasy world begins. Bwahahaha |

If you have a rating scale that only goes to 80, you aren't going to see many guys over 70 at all.

I was using 1-100.. so far so good, though. I will wait until May 1st or so in the league to see what the walk leaderboard looks like.. Thanks everyone! My team is thoroughly average with sparks of brilliance, but I am set up with good contracts: a young team that I hope will make the playoffs in year 3. Does anyone readnig this have any thoughts on what aspects of this game may be the LEAST realistic? (I haven't seen any yet!) and how to limit those? |

The least realistic part of the game is the human manager.

You may also want to check on the Game Setup->Strategy->Player Creation Modifiers page to see if all of those are 1.000. If they're less than 1.000, then players will be created with lower ratings. Now, if the top player has an Eye rating of 80, he will still usually take more walks than everyone else, so it's not like something's "broken". Your league will still "work out" correctly
