Player fatigue

I've noticed that on my depth chart if I set the 2nd tier player's starting condition to "if starter tired" and I quick play a game, then the computer will sub players in for a "tired" starter seemingly without warning. I have two questions here:

1. Is there an easy way to see which starters are tired? I have obviously noticed the bar that displays when a pitcher is less than 100%, as well as their name changing color, but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent graphic for players. I would rather not have to scroll through all of my player profiles before each game, and there doesn't seem to be any category that displays that information other than on the player profile section.

2. At what point is a player considered tired? Is it anything below 100%? is it 90%? 75%?

I'm still trying to familiarize myself with the game, so any help would be appreciated. So far I am thoroughly addicted and find this to be a deeper and more immersive experience than Baseball Mogul which I have played for several years now.

I believe if you go to your roster screen a thing shows up in front of your players to let you know they are tired, the same thing that shows up for pitchers. You can tell by looking at it how tired your players are. It will show up once they fall below 100%.

Which is also the answer to the second question. As soon as a player is less than 100% he's put on the bench to rest. A doubtful design, and one that I've questioned. But I can also see that there may be practical reasons for doing it this way (one reason being that player don't get too many ABs, which they still do anyway).

As far as I can tell, that's untrue. I don't think it will show up with the orange bar until they get below about 80%.

I'm not sure how that affects "if starter tired" though, if the starter will be taken out once they get below 80% or less than 100%.

I think you're right, the orange bar doesn't show up until they are around 80%, which is what caused my original confusion because I would assume that every batter on my roster was 100% because there would be no graphic to indicate otherwise next to his name. The problem is that the computer subs players in whenever they are below 100%, so unless you check each players profile before every game, you won't know when your subs are going to get a start, which leads to batting orders that don't make any sense. It seems like that is a pretty big flaw that could be easily fixed for future versions. So now I am faced with a dilemma of whether to leave the settings on "if starter tired" and either accept the random insertions into my lineup or check each individual profile before every game, which would be very inconvenient. The other option is to switch the setting to "never" and then just look for the status bar to appear before making manual lineup changes. The main problem with that, as was previously mentioned, would be that bench players would see far less game time and starters would recieve a more than realistic number of ABs.

Yep, you pretty much have the options figured out. The batting order thing is a problem sometimes, though I mostly get annoyed when the catcher ends up as the leadoff batter. It's really a tradeoff decision (one among many ) between taking time to check and realign everything for every game vs speeding things up. I tend to let the AI do it's thing unless I see something that's just way too weird. I don't expect that what happens in this aspect of the game will be noticeably different in OOTP10.

How do you edit players fatigue levels while in commish mode?

I want to sim a game from tonight's mlb schedule but both starters aren't at 100%

What part of the editor am i missing on how to manipulate the fatigue for both guys.

No can do. But starters don't have to be 100%. If they are 80% or better, they're good to go. 60-80% is less than desirable, but it is not uncommon for that to happen in OOTP, especially if you play historical with lots of double headers. Below that, you're looking at guys that aren't going to last very long. Better to go with someone else.
