OOTP Budget Formula Question

Has anyone ever determined the actual Budget formula?
Has Markus kept it secret on purpose?

I have searched the forums here and could not find it, though it could just be my malfunction.

My best current guess is:

(previous year's revenue) + (revenue sharing) = (this year's current budget)

That seems to work pretty well for large markets, in win now with high support. It works less well if teams differ from that in either Market Size, Team Focus and possibly Fan Loyalty and Interest.

I'd like to be able to predict my budget and the rest of my leagues' budgets better. Let me know if anyone any further insights about this calculation.

Thanks,
Kevin

I'm sure this is a 'duh', but it also varies with whether you've selected 'Owner controls budget'. The owner will usually short you (meaning 'me') if you've left a surplus, and he'll usually make you whole if you ran a deficit the previous season.

I should probably clarify that I am playing in an online league where each team " has access to its entire revenue" . So no owner set budget that I am aware of.

Even with access to entire revenue turned on, I'm still not sure that owners don't have a say.

I think it is true that even with access to the entire revenue, you only get close to that under the best case scenario. I am trying to quantify how much the game takes away from your budget for being away from the best case scenario.

It should be:
Last year's gate revenue
plus
Last year's merchandising revenue
plus
Last year's playoff revenue
plus
This year's media contract.
