Stars or ratings?
I'm confused with the way the game assigns star values to the players. I have several pitchers that follow very inconsistent patterns with the relationship between their stuff, movement, and control ratings vs. their "star" rating. Why are some players that have better ratings assigned a lower star rating value than another player with lower numerical ratings.
Example: Using a 1-20 ratings scale I have one reliever with 13-11-17 ratings in the stuff-movement-control categories respectively and he has a 0.5 star rating. Another reliever has 11-12-11 ratings in the same areas and is rated as a 2 star player. The 2 star pitcher is a much better fielder than the 0.5 star pitcher, but does that really make a big difference? Am I missing something with these ratings, because they don't seem to make sense at the moment, and I'm not sure whether to evaluate players based on numerical ratings, star ratings, or just plain results. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? |

Don't evaluate on star ratings. Look at their numerical ratings and their statistics. Star ratings, to me, are really just there to give you a quick snapshot idea of a player's ability level.
