Free agents and multiple leagues

Is there a way to keep free agents from signing with alternative leagues ... I have an MLB dynasty going and for the fun of it I created a Chinese Baseball League about 10 seasons in ... For now I don't want the leagues interacting with each other. I checked the box about not allowing the teams in the two leagues to trade. But I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent free agents from jumping back and forth. Thanks...

Under Game Setup>League Setup>Rules there are some options that might do the job.

Under the Financial Rules there are options to not allow free agents from other leagues to join that one, and to not let free agents from that league go to another. (You'd probably want to hit those for both leagues.)

Nearer the top of that column there are options for how many foreign players to allow per team. Since in your case the leagues are in different countries, setting the Chinese league to 'no foreigners might have an effect, but you wouldn't want to do that with MLB. (And maybe not for the Chinese league, which in real life has a fairly liberal foreign player policy.)

Those should cut the interaction way down, but honestly, I'm sure there's any way to eliminate it entirely. Those agent bastards are tricky, and the next thing you know one of them will have discovered a Chinese great-grandmother who qualifies a player to slip past every barricade you can erect. Political asylum … refugee status … adult adoptions … third country pass-throughs to launder citizenship …

Good luck.

Smile

You're welcome. I've lost track of how many things I've missed.
