Endless winning streak bug?

Hi!

My 2011 Brewers (see link below) are a good team, but we won 18 in a row and stand at 56-15. I mean a 10 game winning streak can happen, but this?
Did something like this happen in one of your games?

My pitching staff:

B. Webb (11-2, 1.97 ERA)
D. Bush (10-1, 2.77 ERA)
M. Parra (10-1, 3.00 ERA)
C. Villanueva (9-4, 3.87 ERA)
E. Bedard (7-2, 4.19 ERA)

Offense is fair, but except Prince Fielder (.307, 21 HR, 69 RBI) not extraordinary special.

I've won 22 with a clearly dominant team. Are the teams you've beat recently wracked with injury?

Not really, 6 of the last 8 wins were saves.
The season started already great before I converted to OOTP 9, but the current winning streak is under OOTP 9.

I've read your dynasty in places. You've assembled a very good team. I've seen things like this on occasion when I've gotten a few years in and not restricted myself via transaction "house rules" etc. I've managed teams that have won 120-130 games in a season: can't remember the longest streak I've pulled off, but it wouldn't be ridiculous to see an eighteen game skein in a season like that. I wouldn't consider myself to be an exceptionally brilliant OOTP player or anything -- the A.I. is just deficient in some aspects & can be exploited if one has no scruples as regards that sort of thing.

Hey, the real world Colorado Rockies (who don't look dominant on paper and probably won't be a contender this season) have won eleven games in a row and counting. Weird stuff happens.

Two of the longest winning streaks ever (26 and 18 games, if I recall) came in the same season, by a NY Giant team that finished fourth.

Well, I won 16 of 17 one time. 2 8-game streaks sandwiching a lone loss (I should have won that one, damn you bullpen. )

Ok, thanks for reading
I admit my pitching is very good, was just afraid sth with the game was messed up. In the last game the Cardinals closer blew his first save of the season giving up four hits on nine pitches
I guess I will limit my transactions, and next season I will lose three players to free agency. And if I get too good, I take over an expansion team or the Texas Rangers

Yes, those Rockies look scary at the moment, ripping the NL Central. But I like them

Found it.

"In the spring of 1916, the Giants lost 13 of their first 15 games at home, then went on the road and set a record by winning 17 in a row in Pittsburgh, Chicago, St. Louis, Cincinnati and Boston. Then they foundered. The trouble spots were the pitching staff and the infield."

… (much trading ensues) …

"The Giants, starting on September 7, won 26 games in a row at the Polo Grounds. But despite these spurts they finished fourth as the Dodgers won the pennant."
(quoted from "The New York Giants", an article by Frank Graham that appeared in SPORT magazine in 1951 and was reprinted in the book "The National League" in 1966.)

I have a more dramatic version of that somewhere, which does a better job of making clear that (A) at that time these were the two longest winning streaks in National League history, and the 26 game is still the longest since 1869 (before organized professional leagues), and (B) even though these are described as an away streak and a home streak, at that time home and away stands sometimes lasted that long, and these are also overall winning streaks.

The Giants finished seven games out, with an 86-66 record (Philadelphia was second and Boston third).

The good old times!
At the same time football World Cup games ended with scores of 7-5 or 10-2 as well

Maybe I once should play such a historical league?
