No. The mods are not Mac or PC specific. Most of the mods should still work in OOTP8 - things like logos and uniforms and face packs are all the same. The only things that probably won't work are the quickstarts unless they say they are specifically for v2007/v8 (they are compatible).

They are essentially two different games. Not quite. But almost. Interface is very different and more complex. There is a steep learning curve.
But v8 is a much better game. Once you get the hang of it, you will never go back.

If you need to make room immediately, you can also Designate for Assignment, which will remove the player from the roster immediately. Then you have 10 days to do something with him.

The ballparks can be added in-game. Go to the home page for each team, then click on Options and Ballpark at the top left. There is a button at the bottom I think to change the ballpark pic. To edit players, you have to be in Commissioner Mode. To turn it on, go to the manager home page and click on the manager options tab. There is a check box for it. When you turn this on, it will add an editor tab to each player page.

Also, be aware, there's slots there for a daytime and nightime photo. If you only change the daytime stadium, but play all your games at night, you'll still see the default picture. Change both. Good luck.

Yeah, what OFG said^^^
Only addendum is that you have to be in commissioner mode to edit ballparks. That's why you can't see the button. Go Manager Home, then click on the Manager Option tab. Check the Commissioner Mode box. You can uncheck it after you edit the park pics if you want.

Sorry, try this:
Go to the home page of the team of which you want change the park Click 'Options and Ballpark' at top left Click 'Edit Ballpark' at bottom right (this is the part where you have to be in Commish Mode) Click 'Pictures and Coordinates' tab Click on the '...' buttons to browse for your stadium pics. Remember to change both day and night.

Or you can do it this way, took screenshots to hopefully help.
Click on League Options at the bottom (arrow pointing to it in first pic), then click on Edit Ballparks (circled in first pic). Then click the Pictures and Coordinates Tab (circled in 2nd pic), then type in the names of your files in the spaces that the arrow is pointing to in the 2nd pic. This part got me at first, cause I put in lines (_) for spaces, but the file names didn't have them (for some reason IIRC the default ones did, and when I saw that I wrongly thought you had to include lines in place of spaces. NO. You must type it in exactly as the file name is, even with the extension. And again, there are two, a daytime and a nightime. However, for whatever reason, the only one you ever see on this screen is the daytime version IIRC. So, if you type in the file correctly for the daytime pic you will see it change right away, but when you type in the name for the nighttime pic you won't be sure it's right until you go into a game. At least that's what I seem to remember, I might be misremembering that though. And thanks Tribe for helping too. From a not too long ago newbie, you folks that take the time to answer are greatly appreciated. I'm still trying to figure out the problem with my losing offense in the other thread you responded too. Really, really, appreciate your taking the time to help folks like us. Wanted to make sure I said that.

Oh, forgot. On the Park Profile page, there is a drop down menu (circled in pic) to choose which ballpark you're editing/changing. So to do all of your teams, you click on the Park Profile tab, select the ballpart to edit by clicking the dropdown menu and choosing, then click the Pictures & Coordinates tab as instructed above to change the day and nightime pics. Then click back on the Park Profile page and repeat for the rest of your stadiums. Once I got it figured out it only took a few minutes to do the entire league.
Oh, and took these screen shots on my laptop, which is wide screen. So it seems it messes up the borders on here when I post them. Sorry about that, I don't really know what to do to stop that from happening, other than not post any more screenshots I guess.
