Convert 6.5 to OOTP 9?
I'm one of those guys who loves OOTP 6.5. Frankly, 2007 and 8 gave no reasons to upgrade, OOTP 9 looked good and 10 looks pretty solid... but I understand 10 has such differences that things from 6.5 will not translate properly (IE 10 gives pitches specific ratings)
My question is, we are 10 years into our season. Obviously nobody wants to start over... is there a proven way to convert the league to 9? Do the ratings over? Has anybody converted a 6.5 league successfully and been happy with how they've done it? I mean obviously the best way is so that the best players in our 6.5 remain the best players in our 9 league. I understand we'd probably have to upgrade the file to OOTP 8 and then upgrade it to 9 right? Also, for those using 9 successfully... what are reasons for switching from 6.5 to 9? I mean 6.5 has its flaws but its stable... and we've invested a lot of time and competitveness in this league so we don't want to just wipe it clean... we want the 9 league to be as competitively fair as the 6.5 league was while maintaining history... Any insight would be much appreciated! |

I wish you luck in finding out your answers. "Giving up" 10 years worth of history would be a tough thing to do!!!
However, your league and team owners may be forced into what has happened in real history; as with The All-American Girls Baseball League which had many of the teams go into debt, and also had a decline in fan interest. The league did not resume operations after the 1954 season. Or maybe even the Federal League. Hopefully someone here will have a helpful answer for you. Good Luck |
