What does "Favor Hitting" vs. "Favor Pitching" mean exactly? Aren't both required?

Well, in real life, there are teams that lean one way or the other. Take the Rays, for example: Price, Shields, Moore, Rodney, Farnsworth... clearly they favor pitching. The opposite end of the spectrum would be a team like the Yankees, with a lot of big bats and not as many arms.

But in-game, I'm not sure what effect this would have unless you were letting the AI make all the GM moves for you.

My experience has been that 'favor hitting' means when you are doing the draft and ask for the scout's recommendation, you are more likely to get a hitter as the suggestion. That vice is versa, of course!
