Anyone have a solution to this problem?
I started a small 12 team league, 1 subleague, 2 divisions. I started play in 1947. I just started the 1964 season. Along the way I have expanded to 18 team, 2 9 team divisions. This is where my problem begins. What I would like to do in the future is split this league into 2 subleagues. This would allow me to grow my league along the lines of what occurred in real life baseball.
Is there a way to add a subleague to a long running 1 subleague league without having it completely mess up the league champions page? Last time I tried this the entire history changed. |

I have done this myself (gone from one subleague of 12 teams to 2 subleagues of 8 teams each), and I don't remember it messing up my championship history. All that happened was that each champion from the pre-expansion era was listed as an Eastern Conference team on the championship page (since that was Subleague 1). That's a minor aesthetic issue, but nothing major, and it's pretty understandable.
How exactly did it "the entire history" change? |

I don't believe this behavior happens because you add a subleague, but because you change the structure of the original subleague from having divisions to having none. This changes the way champions are determined and since the listing is regenerated, the game uses the current rules to determine the past champions. I'm currently testing this, but I can't seem to get the weaker division winner to win the derned championship. I'll report back when I have more info.
Edit: No, doesn't work when you keep divisions either. Instead of the champion being listed, just the champion of one division is listed, though it is still bolded when it won the series. Sorry. Last edited by Questdog; 01-20-2013 at 04:02 PM. |
