Prospect discussion- when to bring up?
I kind of goofed up one of my prospects ( when I was getting used to this game) and burned his option years so Ive had to keep him up on the ML squad in my online season. He is a 24 year old 3b
His ratings are Contact 66/74 Gap 69/71 Power 35/45 Eye/discipline 48/61 ( this is the one area I am most concerned about) Avoid K 79/89 Thoughts? Did I ruin this guy's career? He has good work ethic but low on brains. He had a solid spring training batting .289, then in the first series he went crazy and is at .545 after three games! |

i'd be more annoyed with the lack of power from a corner spot. looks like a Chris Johnson without the strikeouts.

I definitely don't think you ruined his career. He will continue developing (hopefully) over the next season or two. I had a guy I recently brought up and his ratings before the season were: CON: 86/99 , POW: 61/95 , EYE: 26/58. He was a 22 year old CF.
He hit .299/.351/.511 with 30HR/100RBIs with a 4.4 WAR and 135 OPS+. Pretty good. His ratings after the season are: CON: 99/100 , POW: 90/100 , EYE: 46/69. So no, you probably didn't ruin his career, but I think it's always a possibility. |

He will develop as normal as a part of the big-league squad whether he gets playing time or not. If you're concerned about bad performance and its effect on his development, just make him a back-up and he'll most likely have grown into his potential ratings by the next year.
