do you use the almanac?

Do you use the almanac? I have a long-standing question about this in the new to the game forum but wanted to ask here in case folks don't check there. In my past experience (even if "keep all transactions" is selected) the log will reset at the end of the playoffs so that when you go to almanac at the end of the calendar year you only have transactions from the end of the playoffs through December. Is there a workaround? Am I doing something wrong? Should I use a different archiving system?

This has been brought up before about the transactions.

Here's my workaround:

I manually run the Almanac the day after the play-offs end. So finish play-offs, sim to next day, then generate. If you sim "til play-offs are over" it goes 2 days past the last game, which is when the off season begins and you lose the transactions.

If you do it this way, all transactions from the day after last seasons play-offs to the day after the current seasons play-offs will be in your history.

The trade off is, you won't have the complete history of your just finished season as awards haven't been done yet. It will show up in the following years almanac though when you run it the day after next seasons play-offs, so you don't lose it entirely.

What needs to happen is, Markus change the programming so these files get deleted on the 1st of Jan, the day after the Almanac runs. Then you would get an entire years history, from 1 Jan to 31 Dec, with all the awards and updated career ldrbrds, etc etc.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Thanks Bluenoser, I know you also replied in the other thread too so thanks again. I'm just worried that I will do it wrong and this is a league where I really want to keep everything and have a rich history, without bogging down the game by retaining transactions in the league history.
