How much do managers, bench coaches and other coaches.....

Really add to the team/game? Is it worth it to spend millions of dollars on staff when you can't even afford much money for player development? Which offers more for the money? Staff? Player Development? what?

Reason I ask is I put about 13 million a year into all the staff and player development combined. I can only afford about 3 million in player development because of the cost of staff. I'm figuring only the top 4 tier staff is worth having? ML, AAA, AA and first A? What do you guys think or do?

Plus is there a way to lower the amount of money the owner spends on amatuers? He's throwing away 7.5mil a year into that that I could use for extentions.

I don't know the answer as I have only been playing this game for 1+ season. But I wondered about the same thing as I was hiring new staff after that first season. My thought was to hire the best staff available at the lowest levels - rookie and short A. I figured that it is human nature for people to be more easily affected by teaching/coaching the younger they are. And I don't want all the hot 17-21 year old prospects I just drafted to get wrecked by bad coaches.

I played this game for a while now and am still trying to figure out what managers or bench coaches really do for the team except giving hints on the strategy or lineup if you use the "Ask Manager for ..." option. If you sim, the strategy part might be somewhat useful, but playing out every game, I did not notice anything.I DO think that having good hitting/pitching coaches will have some influence on your players' actual performance and their development, so I do pay a lot of attention to hiring the best available guys for these jobs.
