Lightbulb Hobbit League

I'm cooking up a Hobbit League and I'm looking for suggestions. Any good ideas for league names? Award titles? Playoff names? League settings? I'm thinking maybe aging -50% or so. Development similar. Anything else I should consider?

Wirling wizard - pitcher of yr
He with the silver staff - MVP
Magical mit - gold glove
Use names of lands from the Tolken books for team/division names. Or make names elf, wizard, dwarf, etc...
Would be great if you could generate a name file to keep things "realistic"

I'm working on a name file. Problem is getting enough names so you don't end up with 27 Berrilac Underhollows.

The Divisions and Teams are:

North Farthing.....Buckland
Dim Hills......... Brandy Hall
Oatbarton......... Crickhollow

South Farthing.....Breeland

Thanks! I've gone through one or two other name generators. Unfortunately, I'm OK with first names. I'll add these to the list, though. It's last names I'm running a bit low on. I'm not so worried about the "realism" of it -- it's small towns and large families so I'd expect many of the same last name. I'm a little worried about the confusion factor. Two Drogo Tangleroots that are both second basemen could be a problem.

I wonder if Tolkien would have a heart attack if he knew his literature was the basis for fantasy baseball leagues. Solonor's league there is pretty creative though.

I suspect Tolkien would have been amused and appreciative. He once wrote that the duty of a fantasy writer was to help people to escape from the prison camp of reality. But you never know.

Looks Great Bobble. Are you going to use your Event's mod, too? You seem to always come up with interesting things, so I'll be following along.

Are you going to create a stadium? I would thing you could get away with using only one (community park) or even one for each division. This may just be selfish prodding on my part, though. I would love to see what you come up with.

I've considered whether or not to do a dynasty report. I'll have to see if I stick with this league long enough to warrant that.

You read my mind with the one park per division -- really one park per Farthing.

I'm cooking up one of the parks right now. I'll post it tomorrow or Monday.

BTW, I'm still looking for ideas, guys. I don't really have any good mascot names. What happens if I go without mascots? Any other ideas or suggestions out there?

The first pitch at Party Field

For hobbits, a ball game is an excuse for a party. A few grainsacks are not-too-carefully placed for bases, the first inning keg is tapped, and the most sober hobbit that can be located is designated umpire. Party tents are promptly erected and the first mug is ceremoniously downed by the newly-crowned umpire.
