position player/pitcher questions

What's the best way to handle the dozen or so players that are originally imported as a one type of player (i.e. position or pitcher), and later imported as the other?

One of the player's versions has to be deleted. I haven't seen any way to delete a player outright, so I just gave the first player in my historical league beginning in 1901 a career ending injury, (Joe Yeager 1902). Is there a delete player option?

I would like to combine both his position and pitching skills onto one player as they belong. Am I correct in assuming that I could use him as a pitcher or a position player in games I manage, but the AI would only use him as one-or-the-other, depending on his "official" prefered position?

Pretty much. Though I don't know if the AI would switch him over to a different position - but it certainly wouldn't use him as a human manager would and most of his work would all be within his one main positional role.
