Fake players on historical sims?
Okay - I have started two separate historic sims using Lahman and everytime I do I end up with fake players on my roster. I just started with the 1998 Cardinals and I end up with the following fake players:
Ed Bainton - 2B Jon Polland - SS Price O'Kelly - CF Jon Farrissey - CF This wouldnt' be so bad I guess - except I know these teams had 25 real players And that the fake players are sometimes better than the real players... That just doesn't make things accurate. What am I doing wrong? |

Are you using minor leagues ? If so it sounds like the computer generated players to fill the minors, but those players are actually better than the real players so they got moved up. You can get around this by lowering the player creation modifiers (to something like 0.100) so that the CPU creates players that are much worse than the MLB players (whom would have a PCM of 1.000 if they were "created" players)

Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you. Or, alternatively, don't use minor leagues with historical leagues. The game, strictly speaking, wasn't designed to do that. The reserve roster, when used for historical leagues, functions as a de facto minor league and players will develop when on the reserve roster. It also ensures that there'll be no fictional players in your historical league.
