I am finshing up another historical sim and will be more than happy to give details of specific players/teams on request...

As an aside.. I grew up up playing cricket and rugby. I only really got into baseball in the last seven or eight years and therefore my knowledge of basbeall history and players of the past is not that hot. I therefore enjoy looking up people's request as they have add to my knowledge of the past.

Could you let me know how the NY Giants did? (Especially Mel Ott, Willie Mays, and Bill Terry).

The Cardinals were by far the most successful franchise with 42 play-off apps and 29 WS wins. Yankees second with 21 and 10 and then the Dodgers with 21 and 9.

There was an amazing stretch from 1921-1927 where the two St Louis teams contested the WS.

The Cards also won the NL pennant 15 straight yeras from 1939-1953.

The Giants went to the play-offs 18 times and won the WS twice, in 1966 and 2002.

Unfortunately he suffered several injuries early in his career which affected his ratings.
Still had a couple of good seasons. .310ave/49Hrs/119 RBIs in his rookie year for Boston

Ozzie won 3 GGs in his career with the Padres, Astros, Orioles. Ozzie stoloe a lot of bases but never really hit that well. 266 ave. (774 SBs) He fractured an eye socket early which affected his ratings.

Expos reached the play-offs nine time and won it all back to back in 94 and 95.

Kirk Gibson played most of his 15 year career for the Tigers and had short spells at the Braves and Astros.
He won RotY in 1981.

They won the WS in 81 and reached the play-offs in 85 and 90.

HReynolds only played until 1993. Not injury related, he just could not get going. .278 ave, .712 ops

Jim Presley never played more than 50 games a season and after four years the Mariners released him and he retired.

Mark Langston played 12 seasons in the Majors and went 88-85 with a 5.08 era. His best year was 87 when he went 13-5 but with a 5.57 era.

Phil Bradley played 12 years and got 1489 hits, .283 BA, 497SBs, 786 ops.

Dave Valle played 8 years, but another who struggled. 443 hits, 48 Hrs, .198 BA, .546ops

How about my favorite, Kirby Puckett (OF)? It was a shame his career, and life, were cut too short.

Also curious about Scott Erickson (SP) - did his career ever make shape in your sim? Or disappointment like in real life?
