Historical League - New Players not going to correct teams

I recently started a league in year 1901, after about 15-20 years, I noticed the yankees and browns were allways finishing at the bottom. All new yankees and browns players seem to go to other teams, seemingly at ramdom. I turned draft off, wanting to get the players to start with the same teams as in RL. I used NYA and SLA for the two team that moved cities. Any ideas how to correct this?

Did you put that in as the historical ID?

When teams change names and/or cities you also have to change their historic ID to the new teams ID...I get them off this site

Hope this helps

Orioles,

I believe the spot you missed is in the same place where you entered the team abreviation.

Team abreviation is what OOTP uses to track the teams in OOTP. It is used for both fictional and historical teams.

There is a Historical ID below the team abreviation. As far as I know, the only use for this is to tell OOTP which team to use from the database.

I haven't tried this, but I would guess you could set up the Braves franchise in Atlanta in 1901, give the team the abreviation ATL, but set it's historical ID to be BSN. Each year the Boston Braves players would be imported to this Atlanta team.
