Franchise moves in historical leagues
How do you guys do the various team moves?
Do you move them the year they're supposed to, regardless of how well the team is doing? It's 1977, and I've got still got the St. Louis Browns, since they've had 25 pennants and 14 world championships in their history. They've never had a really bad enough stretch where I could see them moving to Baltimore. Also, the 2nd Senators went to the series in 1971, so sadly, no move to Arlington. I have no Rangers. Anyone else do this? or just move them and standings be damned. ![]() |

I am working on a 1901-2006 historical simulation and I am following all of the moves exactly as they happen. The game will automatically link your franchise if it moves so the organization will get credit for previous championships, etc.

I moved mine as they happened as well. When I was moving em around I thought like you are why would a good team move....Then I recalled that not all teams move because they are doing poorly or have bad fan support...the Cleveland Browns are a great example of this....so I just kept moving em as history did

That's one of the great things about this game, being able to do it the way you want to do it. There's no end to the fun that can be had.

Basically my approach to "historical" games is to pick one moment in time and try to model that one moment with the greatest possible detail and accuracy. Then I start the game, and everything I do from then on is based on what feels right in the context of that particular game.
If I were playing the game you describe, I can't imagine wanting to relocate the Browns. |

So do you have relocate them manually, or does it automatically do it?
