A 78 year old player LOL
Billy Hamilton is still playing at 78. His service time is 45 years and his Time as a Professional is 57 years. Although he hasnt played a game in 9 years, just sat on the reserve roster. He does still have 100 Eye, 100 Stealing Bases, and 100 Stealing Instincts. He's been playing from 1889-1944.

Well, he seems to not want to retire. He's still going at 81. Injuries were at Very Low but i turned it up to Low a few years back. I just used the default modifiers. Never seen anything like it.

Okay, there are funny little bugs, and there are annoying big bugs, and then there is JUST PLAIN AWESOME. I think this falls squarely into category 3. Gooooooo Grandpa go Grandpa go!

Well hes not on any career leaderboard. Mostly because he hasnt played a game in 20 years and when he did, he barely played at all. I think i'll just CEI him, he'll never retire i guess

I'm reminded of the movie Office Space...just replace Milton's name with Billy Hamilton !
Bob Slydell: Milton Waddams. Dom Portwood: Who's he? Bob Porter: You know, squirrely looking guy, mumbles a lot. Dom Portwood: Oh, yeah. Bob Slydell: Yeah, we can't actually find a record of him being a current employee here. Bob Porter: I looked into it more deeply and I found that apparently what happened is that he was laid off five years ago and no one ever told him, but through some kind of glitch in the payroll department, he still gets a paycheck. Bob Slydell: So we just went a ahead and fixed the glitch. Bill Lumbergh: Great. Dom Portwood: So um, Milton has been let go? Bob Slydell: Well just a second there, professor. We uh, we fixed the *glitch*. So he won't be receiving a paycheck anymore, so it will just work itself out naturally. Bob Porter: We always like to avoid confrontation, whenever possible. Problem solved from your end. |

Don't CEI him, it'll be interesting to see how far he can go.

This does bring up an interesting point... We now have the ability to create leagues with miniscule MLEs. A .01 MLE would be, essentially, a local rec league. It's conceivable that a guy could be a reasonably productive player in a league like that from age 13 to 75.

Have you seen the story about the oldest pro baseball player? He took a turn at bat at the age of 83.

I would make a copy of the league..have it sim like 100 more years over night....and come back to see if he is still hanging in there at like 180+ years of age.
I just would not be able to resist to see if he the game had still active at like 200 years old. |
