Looking for some help

I'm currently running a historical sim using the Lahman Database starting from 1901. I'm in the early 50's right now and I'm getting ready to start expansion in 1961. I'm not looking to spend hours manually moving players around to their new teams so I'm wondering the best way to do this. I read somewhere that since the rookies import the day the pre season begins that you should set the expansion teams up the year before so they get at least those players. Has anyone ran into trouble with this? I know some concerns were that with a record of 0-0 they could win their division with a .500 winning percentage. I don't see that happening in the 60's or 70's expansion but I know there would be a better chance in the 90's with a 3 divison format. I am NOT concerned about original players on teams in first year expansions, I only want to make sure that rookies go to those teams for their 1st year and not become free agents.

Also I'm using the information from www.brucem.net/BB_Chrono.htm to update team names and historical IDs when needed. I noticed that when the Expos move to Washington in 2005 that there is no historical ID change. I was wondering if that was something that was just forgotten to be updated because it is still so new, and what the change to that might be.

Thanks for any help you can provide me.

My guess would be that, if anything, it would be WN, for Washington Nationals, since they used WS1 and WS2 for the two versions of the Senators.
