when starting a league?

is there a way when starting a historical league to have all previous stats start at 0? i'm starting a fictional league (with a historical database) that begins in 1970. when i start the league i don't want there to be any previous stats or leaders, i would like the stats in my league to be the only stats in the record book? thanks for the help in advance!
