Newbie struggling to load database

I'm trying to start a new game, using a Spritze database, and keep getting the error "loading of the historical league failed" before I can even get started, right after setting the path to the Master.csv file. I'm sure I'm making a rookie mistake, but what is it?

Thanks for any help.

Which db are you using? Some are for OOTPx and some for OOTP11 and you can't switch them up. Different file structures.

Oh -- sorry, I blanked on the fact that I was roaming the 11 forums when I posted the question, which concerns OOTP X. I was trying to start a new game for myself in OOTP X, using the 2009 Spritze DB ("Spritzemost")from Padresfan's site.

To provide a little more info, I first saved the DB files in their own folder within the "Stats" folder. When that didn't work, I tried moving them up a layer, placing them in a "Stats2" folder. That failed the same way.

Make a copy of all the files in the stats folder and then copy over them with the downloaded files.

I didn't include all the files that are needed but not different than what comes in the game in the download for file size reasons.

Spritze, if you're still listening, I started the league in 1900 with an inaugural draft and 16 teams, but I only got a draft pool of 188 players. Did I do something wrong?

In 1900 there were only 8 major league teams and active rosters contained 15 or 16 players so probably not. The majors would have contained 120 players so having 188 is really quite a lot.
