Up is Down and Down is Up?

I am playing OOTP8. I am trying to run a historical sim where the stats stay the same every year. But as I have been experimenting trying to get the type of stats I want I have noticed that when I increase HR, or 2B or other categories it actually makes the number go down and also the other way around. Am I doing something wrong?

That is how things worked in earlier versions of the game. If you increased the league total for a given stat (HR, etc.), the output in the league will decrease by a proportionate amount. Modifiers as a fraction of the entered league totals were introduced in a version after v8.
