Personnel Problem

Figured this would get fixed by the patch, but it wasnt

Whenever I right click on a staff member already in my organization, not all of my choices appear. I had an opening at A-Ball, but the only choices on the appoint list were for the Major League and Rookie League levels.

I have never been able to assign staff anywhere except from the major leagues. If I tried to move a AA guy it would give me options for AA and major leagues, Rookie league it would give me options for rookie and the majors... but in the majors it would give me all options.
Are you trying to send a guy from rookie to A ball, or from the majors to A ball?

I never saw it reported as a bug. Although you really shouldn't be able to demote staff... it always seamed weirdto me.

it happens in MLB. Although usually a person can decline the demotion. I wanted to promote a rookie mananger to A ball manager which was vacant...surely i should be able to do that

did a quick search, couldn't find it reported.

Afail, or anyone else in this thread...

Can you please let me know your game configuration? (historical/fictional/standard, etc.?)

I can't replicate this issue. For example, I just started a brand new fictional league with 5 levels of minors. When I right-click on a personnel member, my "appoint as" option has every position in my entire organization.

Is this a custom quick-start, or are you referring to the MAL quick-start that comes with the game?

In trying to replicate it, are you going to the rookie league personnel and trying to promote him to A ball from there?
I see the same problem, you can demote guys from the ML personnel screen to anywhere in the organization, but when you go the Rookie (or any other affiliate) personnel screen you can only promote him to the ML personnel, or anywhere in his current level.

A work around is to sub your #5 scout to manage your rookie ball team, then sub your new #5 scout (the rookie ball manager) to the manager of the A ball team. Then go and promote the #5 scout back to the #5 scout position.

Any update?

Any update on this one?

This wouldn't be that bad of a bug, but personnel can refuse demotion. So if you use the work around, you could end up with personnel in the ML that you want to demote, but can't forcing you to release them and eat the contracts.

Also, this is probably not the place, but it would be nice if you could offer ML contracts to minor league personnel under contract to other teams, if the GM of that team allows it.
