PbP and game log not in synch

Using a default league with the latest patch. The problem occured with a AI-controlled team. Basically what happened is a batter grounded to short with runners on 1st and 2nd. The PbP stated that the shortstop fielded the ball, threw to the second baseman who dropped the ball. The PbP also said the lead runner scored on the error, but he really remained at third, loading the bases. No mention of the grounded ball in the game log.

Sorry, couldn't capture the PbP.

Digging around in the text database didn’t yield me any good information. I’m pretty sure the fielding error is covered in a message from category 299 (ERROR_PUTOUT_INFIELD). Messages that involve a runner advancing to third are in category 14 (ADVANCE_BASE_3), and those that tell about a runner coming in to score are in category 15 (ADVANCE_BASE_HOME).

What I can’t figure out is why both of those categories were called as part of the same PbP sequence (if that’s what happened), and especially why category 15 was called if the runner didn’t actually score.

Or, it could be that either or both of the “runner advances” lines came from hard-coded text.

I can’t do anything about the phrasing of the game log or the discrepancy between the log and the PbP. I’ll put this into TT, and maybe Markus will see it and work some of his magic.

EDIT: TT #2527
