Extreem pitcher fatigue
Relievers tired or exhausted one day after pitching an inning. This is one of many examples...

I am seeing this too.
I have a reliever right now who has thrown 2 pitches in the last 5 days and is only 40%. His endurance is 55/100. I have another reliever right now who has thrown 8 pitchers 2 days ago and 15 pitches 3 days ago who is at 44%. His endurance is 46/100. I am playing in the current year, with the default settings.

i also had a started with not even 1 day of rest and made him pitch the very next night (at 5%) he went 7 innings, gave up 2 hits, 3 BB and 1 run.
in 2 nights he only gave up 1 run out of 16 IP. (i was forced to use him, since a bunch of crap heppend to my roster over that week....) and this is in 2007 with all default settings as well. so i guess im not the only 1 having strange fatigue problems. |

I started with low but had to switch to normal. But I cant see any logic behind the above screenie at any endurance level. Overall, I think starters endurance is the best of and OOTP version I am aware of. I hope Markus gives the relievers a little tweak and things will be perfect.

Are there still any open issues with this?

Yeap, same problem here too. My starting pitcher today was at 100%, but after just 1 inning his status was down to 9%. I just let him pitch and he did rather well, if I remember correctly he went almost 7 innings, allowed 3 runs walked 3 or 4 and k'd 4

This is still an open issue for me. My only complaint with the game at this point is the reliever fatigue issue. I have 6 MR's on my roster and I normally only have one or two that are not tired. (I am using the default setting for 2007.) I repeadly have relievers with high endurance tired when they have only pitched one inning in the last 5 days.
Last year in MLB the leading appearance by a pitcher was 94. The year before it was 85. In 20 years of simming in my league the most appearances by a pitcher is 78!!! (I assume this is an issue with the pitchers always being tired, even when only pitching an inning.)

It's working fine in my current solo league using default present day settings.
The only time I've seen a problem is if you use a pitcher set as a SP in a relief role. In other words if I bring up a starter from AAA and want to use him out of the pen he will tire at an unrealistic rate unless I set his position to relief pitcher. As long as I change his role to RP there is no problem. So in short there is no problem with starters or relievers as long as I assign them to the role they will be filling on my team. Take him out of the pen and move him back into the rotation, simply change the role back to SP. FWIW the AI, at least in my solo league, also changes SP it uses out of the pen to RP. I know the AI makes these changes as I've faced many RP on AI teams that have stamina of 15+ on the 1-20 scale. So there is no problem with the AI having the bullpen tiring at an unrealistic rate. This is with the current patch. IMHO the fixes Markus put in the last patch has both SP and RP fatigue, in present day settings, right on the money. Last edited by Sweed; 07-17-2007 at 11:17 PM. |
