Weather & Southern Hemisphere

I run a league based in the southern hemisphere, where the seasons are reversed. It seems that OOTP 2007's weather isn't smart enough to adjust for this. Can we get this fixed?

thanks,
-n

Some specifics would help.

Can you give some months, temps, and locations that are giving trouble? The data is in a txt file, and the data is listed month by month for each city.

I wonder if it is arbitrarily making JUN, JUL, and AUG hotter, and DEC, JAN, and FEB colder from the weather file baseline.

Ah, I see what the problem is... not all of the cities available in the game have entries in the weather.txt file. Can we add new weather entries to that file?

still waiting for an answer to this. can we add new entries to the weather.txt file? I tried, but the game doesn't seem to be using them. I'm still getting 30 degree game temperatures in certain cities. Any help?

Raidergoo was responsible for most of the weather work. Try sending him a pm.

I have no idea what to say about this one. I have appealed to more knowledgeable people for help.

I'm sorry, but I can't seem to find any help with this one. I'll put in a request to have countries located in the southern hemisphere use the correct seasons, regardless of whether or not exact cities are specified.

TT 3663

Also, it looks like you can "Re-Import Weather Database" if you go to a team's page and select Home -> Options & Ballpark -> Edit Ballpark -> Weather. Hope that helps.

From what I gathered in a quick investigation, it seems that the weather does not take into account the hemisphere. January temps in Australia are arbitrarily cooler than they ought to be, and July is hotter than it ought to be.

I think it is a bug; the weather needs two sets of random modifiers, and those modifiers need to be connected to the latitude of the city.

This has been marked as something to consider for the next full release of the game.
