Problem with fictional league and historical finances.

I created a Louisiana based league and I started in 2000. I didn't check off any historical options checked off (fincances, player creation modifiers, etc...). I played a few seasons and I was satisfied with the finances b/c every team had 70 and 80 million dollars to spend. I saved the league as a template and started a new league based off of the template. This time, I checked off all the historical options for finances, strategy, etc....
The problem comes with the team that wins the world series (or so it seems). Whichever team wins the world series, the AI then releases every player or damn near every player on the team, regardless of how many years are left on the contract. My team won the world series twice and it happened to me both times.
I was playing this league before the patch and when I noticed this happening, I went ahead and installed the patch, but it was still happening. This problem kinda sucks. It is pointless to play a fictional league like that if all your players get released at the end of every season.

Also, I did have all the team controls set to me and I had the option checked off to prevent the AI to making any changes.

Has anyone else seen this problem before???

I told you guys wrong, and I appologize. It's not just the world series champs that getting all their players released, its all the teams. Now I figured out a work around this bug. When you initially set your game up, select what year's settings you want to imput. Before, once the game was created and I was ready to start playing, I would then go into game setup and check off all the options to import historical strategies, finances, player creator modifiers and league totals. That's when the problem would occur at the end of the season after the world series, everyone would get released. To get this to work, for your first season, do not check any of these options, just go ahead and play the season as is. Whichever season you select to import the settings from on initial setup (1980 for example), it already has the game setup to that year anyway. When you start your second season, go ahead and check off all your options for finances, etc. and everything is fine. This is a pretty simple work around and its no big deal now, but I think its still a bug that needs attention. Anyone disagree??

Bumping is contraindicated in the Tech Support section of the forum. The official policy down here is that issues are looked at from oldest to newest.

And no, I have no feedback for you. Sorry.

I'm a little confused about your issue, falkonisback.

When you say Checked-Off, do you mean that you have the feature on or off?

Did you change any of the other league settings?
Can you tell me which exact options you had on/off, refering to the auto-progression options.

Sorry for not making myself clear. I meant that, the first go round, I had all the options turned off. The second time I started the league, I had them all turned on. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that I also had the minors and my college feeder league setup this way (with the histrical imports on). After the world series, a mass of players (damn near the entire team; every team) would get released.
When I setup the league the 3rd and final time, I left all these options turned off then after I finished the first season, I turned them on and they've been on ever since and working fine. I did not turn them back on for the minors and college league....do you think that may have something to do with it?

To be clear: the teams would release their players, not merely let their contracts expire as free agents? In their Front Office screen displays, their Player Expenses would reflect the fact that the team lost a whole bunch of money by releasing them? Did you have a salary cap enabled?

Yes, the players would just get released. I had signed a bunch of players to multi-year contract extensions and they would get released from my team, just for an example. I think I had a salary cap, but it was like at $80 mil and no team's payroll was anywhere close to that.

Which version of the game were you using when this problem occurred? Could it have started working correctly after upgrading to the recent patch?

It did it with both the first patch and the second patch. I know this because I knew the second patch was out, but my game wasn't giving me that many problems so I decided to play a while and I was going to d/l and install the 2nd patch before I went to bed. Well I noticed this happening with the first patch, so after I noticed it, I went and installed the 2nd patch right away thinking that this would solve the problem. But after simulating the first season after installing the 2nd patch, the problem still existed.

Like I said, if you run the first season with no historical imports on, it works fine, then at the start of the second season, turn the historical imports on and you're ready to roll with no more problems....Don't ask me how I figured this little fix out, I was just messing around with trying different options to try to get it to work and it did.
