AI Contract Bug
I was just checking on a former player of mine. He had been on a 4 year, 70 million dollar deal (he's a stud starting pitcher).
In 2010 I trade him to the Yankees in the last year of his contract. He's making about 17M a year at this point, is only 29, and posted a 3.8 ERA in 215 innings (a 'down' year for him) According ot his history, a month later, he signed an extension with the Yanks: 3 years for a total of 1.32 million!!!!! He proceeds to have 3 excellent seasons, averaging 233 innings, a 3.3 ERA and 210 Ks a year, all while making about 400K a year. Note that the 25th highest salary in the league at this point is 17.5M a year. Let me mention too that this is not a case of 'ratings not matching performance'. He's rated at 4 1/2 stars, and has all the ratings you'd expect for a pitcher getting those sorts of results Last edited by Erithtotl; 06-02-2007 at 01:43 AM. |

Could you post a screenshot of his player history for us, please?
Had you been editing any of the league financial settings around the time at which this occurred? Were all of the teams in the league losing large amounts of money? Do you know which version you were using when this particular extension was signed? |

Yeah, that's definitely not right. Could you zip up a copy of your .dat files and let us know what the filename is per the instructions in the link below? Thanks.

Ok I'm uploaded it as erithtotl.zip.
Unfortunately, I'm past the point where the guy's contract expired, and he signed with a new club at a more reasonable salary (actually, 20M a year!) Hopefully you can still get something useful out of the files though. |
