career leaderboard maximums don't scale
The leaderboard pitching/batting requirements for rate stats are ordinarily scaled to the league schedule length, e.g. for an 80-game league it's 80 IP and 248 PA for the season leaderboard, and likewise for the career leaderboards, rather than the MLB standard 162 IP/502 PA.
After 4 seasons the minimum requirements for the career leaderboards start to increase, and the scaling remains in effect. This is working as expected. (IIRC that part was fixed at some point during the v2006 patches.) However, the eventual maximums are still hardcoded to 2000 PA and 1000 IP, no matter what the league schedule length is. So for that 80-game league, pitchers eventually need the equivalent of 12.5 seasons in order to show up on the career leaderboards, which is way too high. And with yet shorter seasons it's even more pronounced, of course. Any chance that this could be changed to something more reasonable, like five times the season requirements or something in that ballpark? Edit: In case anyone cares, here's the 2006 Support thread in which the same issue was raised (along with others that were eventually fixed). Last edited by Zeyes; 06-06-2007 at 03:15 PM. |
