Crashing Back To Desktop

When you try to promote coachs from the minors to majors it crashes back to desktop. This was happening in 2007 also. Thanks

Are you using an external roster set (including the MLB real roster in 2008) or a fictional game?

Are you using version 8.0.0.12 of the game? Most instances of this problem would have been fixed by that patch, found:

Again: OOTP 8 patch released! New version # is 8.0.0.13

I am playing a historical league and using no add on rosters. When the season is over and I go to my Coachs and try to promote them it crashs and not only back to the desk top when I reload I have to play the playoffs over again. Am using the latest patch also...Thanks

The problem I reported before the patch was that you could not deploy your coachs, that was fixed but the crashing to desktop is very easy to reproduce, At the end of the playoffs once the season is over try to promote and it will crash every time thanks.

I've had this same problem. I am using 2008 with the MLB roster. I've made a few trades, but otherwise the league is as was set up during the creation of the league.

Another issue along the same lines is that none of my minor league teams has any coaching staff. There are a ton of people available, but it won't let me sign any of them.

Since I figured out that the game will crash every time I try to move the coaches, I decided not to do that any more. Now, I keep having the game crash still. Unfortunately it crashes just while simming. There is nothing in particular that I do, it just crashes.

Markus has said he will release a new patch shortly, that will fix the problem with no coachs in the minors. However the problem with crash's when you try to promote coachs hasn't been addressed yet. But it will be once they fix the areas that stop people from playing the game at all. It usually takes a while to iron out all the bugs.
