repeated CTD in 2007 when shuffling personnel
I've never been a fan of the 2007 version of the game, but tonight I tried actually playing it (as opposed to just setting up) for the first time.
As usual the game defaulted me to some pretty terrible personnel and often placed the better scouts, managers, etc at the lower levels of the organization. I tried to shuffel them around to where I wanted them, but couldn't get past the situation where I tried to move my AA manager to the rookie level. The only way to do it is to first shift him up to the Major League level, then back down to rookie. That part worked, but when I try to move the guy I had to switch him with (the ML bench coach) back to his previous position (bench coach) the game ctds. I've tried saving before trying to move him back. Still crashes. I've tried retsarting the game and moving him back. Still crashes. In effect this makes 2007 unplayable for me. Since I prefered 2006 anyway, it should be no big deal, but this seems like the kind of big bug that should've made some news, and I can't remember reading about it. I'm using an old eMac running OS 10.3.9

Unfortunately, the movement of personnel is problematic and does require the shuffling around you're describing. However, the puzzling aspect of your situation is that the CTD occurs without a vacancy. The 'known' bug is one involving moving a player into an empty slot. I've never had a crash during the shuffling process itself as long as all slots are filled. Are you certain there weren't any vacancies at all?

I didn't explain properly.
The procedure was this: I needed to get my AA manager onto my Rookie league team. I moved the AA manager to Major League bench coach, which moved the bench coach to AA. Next I moved the new bench coach to Rookie manager, which was vacant (three of the minor league manager slots were vacant when the system was created). This created a vacancy at bench coach. Finally I tried to move the new AA manager back into his old (now vacant) position as bench coach, and it's that third move that causes the ctd. So, the first move to fill a vacancy is successful, but the second is not. If I understand what you're saying, I'm going to need to hire someone (at exhorbitant cost) to fill the bench coach position, then switch the new AA manager with this temporary bench coach, then fire the temporary bench coach and eat $400,000 dollars of salary. Is there any other way around this? That seems ridiculous.
