BZ 1385: Ball Location vs PBP

PBP had this description:

lines it hard...
down the line to short right...

The ball location shows Deep Left, near the corner.

The PBP continued with the right fielder retrieving the ball.

I'm now running into numerous instances where the ball flight does not match the PBP description.

I've pointed this out to Markus on both sides of the field, did it look like this?:

If the answer is yes, its BZ#1385.

Yes, that was exactly it, but I've just had another one where the ball was hit directly to deep center and the right fielder made the catch.

A popup directly to the shortstop was caught by the 2nd baseman

Thanks for your good support.

if you see anymore create new threads for each with screenshots (if you need me to tell you how to create screenshots just let me know)

I have 15 saved and I'll either report what you give me or refer to whatever I (or someone else) have (/has) done previously.

What does the gamelog give as the hit location?

It could be that the hit location co-ordinates are saved incorrectly

I'm getting the left field / right field mix up as well, with the ball traveling to left and the PBP sometimes saying right and vice versa. The one I just had happen has the Game Log saying the location was a line drive to 3D with the game claiming it went to right in the PBP but the ball showing up in left.

Not sure if the pbp factors in the dimensions of the stadium, but Manny has turned into Spiderman on this play.

Here's an instance of the bug re-posted here by request.

(In the game log excerpt below, I also included the previous batter since they appear to have fouled one off to "UNKNOWN -1". This particular game wound up with a log with many such entries. Is that an additional bug?)

(Also also, note the location of the batter's name on the field here.)

Quote:
Batting: RHB B. Cobb
0-0: Foul Ball, location: UNKNOWN -1
0-1: Swinging Strike
0-2: Hit by Pitch
Batting: RHB J. De La Hoya
0-0: Called Strike
0-1: Foul Ball, location: 89D
0-2: Ball
1-2: DOUBLE (Line Drive, 3D)
B. Cobb to third

Ball Flight Error

Hey fellas -

I noticed this bug in the ball flight -

the PbP says the ball is a deep shot to LF - however the ball tracks to RF.

I checked my stadium setup files and everything looks ok there.

It appears only the "deep flies" may be affected - all other ball flights appear to be correct.
