BZ 1468: Manager History Screen

Appears to be a bug within the Manager History screen on the winning percentage. As you can see with this manager, on the detail line it shows .494 but in the summary it show .582. After looking around, the .494 is actually the total winning percentage of the team this year, not just for this specific manager (I fired a manager mid year and replaced with this one). Since this is a specific manager's history screen, it should represent the .582.

That's odd. I've created a fictional league and fired managers left, right and centre and all their stats seem to be correct for the period they were in charge.

That is interesting....not sure why it happened for me, but the screenshot proves it happened. One other note is that when I fired my manager I replaced him with my bench coach. Not sure if that makes a difference. I've also provided you the information you requested through PM.

Yep. I can verify that in the file coaches.dat the percentage for that coach for that year does not equal W/(W+L) but it does for every other coach in the game.

Can I ask that you follow the instructions in the 'how to FTP files to us' and I'll log this and get Markus to have a look at it.

Further feedback. I actually created two new leagues this morning and this issue happens everytime. I basically fast sim (go on vacation) to the allstar game and then fire my manager. I then replace my manager (fast sim to end of regular season) and that is when the issue comes up. I first thought it might have to do with me promoting my bench coach, but that is not the case. It happens also when I hire a manager from the outside. Again, the detail line percentage is definetly the overall teams percentage, while the summary line is my specific manager's percentage.

One last thing, it did only appear to be human controlled teams only. I checked out AI swapped managers and their percentages appeared to be correct.

I'll try and see if it happens to me again after I apply the latest patch. Maybe something else fixed it. Defintely, happened all the time in the prior version. I'll let you know.

I tried it again with the latest patch and I get the same results. Again, this happens every time I do the following.

1) Start new MLB league
2) Select to manage Pirates
3) Put manager on vacation
4) Sim to all-star game
5) Fire existing manager
6) Hire new manager from available list
7) Sim to end of regular season
8) Open up personel screen and look at his record
9) On the detail line, lists the manager's record, but the winning percentage reflects the entire team for the year, not just the manager's half year. However, the summary line (totals) does reflect his correct winning percentage for his half of the year.

Let me know if I can provide anything else, but does appear to be very repeatable.

I decided to just go ahead an upload so you could see it if you wanted. File name is SlyBelle_ManagerHistory.zip. I have simmed the full season so you just need to go to the Pirates personnel screen and look at the current' manager's history. You'll see the detail line percentage is incorrect and represents the total team's record, not just his. Hope this helps you.
