BZ 1479: Late FA signing exposed in expansion draft
I do the auto-expand thing on January 1. On January 2, the player in question signs his contract with a non-expansion team. He's exposed in the expansion draft on January 3. I noticed it because he's 27 and rated as 5*; such players simply do not get exposed, especially with a 30 player list.
I have the save game, but this is probably a flukey kind of thing that could have happened in previous versions without me noticing. Anyway, I plan to move ahead and play God somehow, because this guy WILL get picked, probably in the 1st round. The ideal solution would be to not expose FAs signed between expansion team creation and the draft. This is with the PC release version of OOTP 9. |

Did you happen to notice when the protected lists were made by the AI? Also, was the player in question placed on the active roster or was he in DFA when the expansion draft came around?

I'm not sure if he was DFA or not on draft day. P.S. There were actually TWO of these guys; one was obscured by the fact that he was 34 and could've been left unprotected to save salary. But upon further investigation, it was the same story - signed on the 2nd, exposed on the 3rd. |
