I definitely followed the directions and I basically took the old 6.5 league and ran the convertor while in "preaseason" and it worked fine, but I've played through 2 seasons in 2007 and when I try to run the convertor during the same time frame and it crashes at 87 percent. I tried running during the season, offseason, and preaseason but not on opening day. Is this when to run it?

Okay, I loaded the 2008 or OOTP8 demo on my laptop, imported my league, and CATO convertor worked. But the league I imported was 2008 season (which I'm in now) at the beginning. So if I copy my league present day, (I'm at the AS break), could I run the Cato convertor in the 2008 demo, then just copy it back to my 2007 league to finish out the season before converting it in 2009?

Any leagues using the current patched versions of OOTP 8 and OOTP 2007 should be fully compatible, yes.

Can you please let us know how this turns out?

OK, here's what I've done. I took the season that I'm currently in (using 2007) and copied it to the PC that has the 2008 demo installed on it (since 2007 doesn't have the Cato tool). I opened it (midseason) and ran the Cato tool and it worked perfectly. So today, I'll copy that saved season back into my 2007 version, then play out the rest of this year before converting it to OOTP9. My concerns are that the utility didn't work in OOTP9 after simply converting my season...ODD.

Sounds weird. Not sure what would cause that problem.

Well I noticed that in OOTP9, when you convert a 2007/2008 season, it doesn't bring in the "historical ID" and you mention in the instructions to make sure that is set before running the importer. But even when I went in and input them all (even though it says if they have never changed it doesn't matter),,,,it still didn't work.
