BZ 1584: Problem with Min/Max Ages in Draft

If you set the minimum age, it creates all players in the draft pool at that age, regardless of what the older age is set to.

Are we talking about Roster Minimum/Maximum or Created Player Minimum/Maximum as there are two places the ages can be limited?

I will add that in a league without a draft, when it generates rookies after the season, they work fine. And if you manually are creating players.

I've tried 18-23, 18-22, 18-21, 17-21 and 20-23.

For the most part this isn't a problem for me since when I use a draft, the default ages are what I want. However, I was creating an Aussie league where I wanted the youngest age to be 20 (the 20-23 above) and every draft I tried was filled was with 20 year olds only. At the 18-x ranges, it did mark some of the 18 year olds as college players... but they were still 18.

FWIW, I went back to OOTP 8 and it seems to have had the same issue.

I had a different result. I set the age range to 18-22 for player creation and only received enough players in the draft for 3 rounds, even though it was set for 15 rounds and 16 rounds worth of players.

New fictional 2009 league (not 2008 import). 1st year draft pool just announced and every single one of the approx. 300 players is aged 17. not sure whether this is a bug. I can alter ages manually but I'd like an idea of roughly how many players should be 17, 18, 19 etc up to 23/24 I guess. Is this likely to occur in future years or is there a league setting that I've overlooked? Any help appreciated.

Any chance you can zip up the .dat files from your league and upload them to our FTP server? (Or post them somewhere that we can grab them, if you have a server of your own...)

A similar bug has been logged (BZ 1485) about the number of 19 and 23 year olds being lower than other ages, and Markus has stated that this is intentional.

Just out of interest if you go to the draft pool screen, can you click Filters and then Clear and see if that changes anything?

BZ1584 seems to be similar to my problem in that I set my minimum age for player creation to 17. Which exactly are the .dat files to be zipped and sent? I'll have a go.

All of the .dat files in the "root" of your .lg folder. We don't need all of the other stuff.

Copied and pasted dat files as Simmo13.league although I have to say that since I first posted this query(admittedly in the wrong place on the general board

) I manually altered the ages to get a spread between 17-23. Another thing is that nowhere do I see "high School" or "college" mentioned. Is that part of the same problem?

I realise there are lots of other tech problems to attend to but could someone give me an idea of the number of draftees that I should have of each age. I 've got approx 280 players and I've been manually altering ages but I'm doing it by guesswork and as draft day is looming any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Any word on this for the upcoming patch?

Tried creating a (Cuban) league where the draftees were 16-18 and all players created are 16. Even when manually creating players and selecting "draft-ready prospect" they all come out the youngest.
